Library Tidbits:

A big THANK YOU to the Gunnison high school industrial arts class for building a sandwich board for the Gunnison library.

Pictured above are Shae Gero, junior; Wyatt Phipps, industrial arts teacher; Daniel Cadwell, sophomore; Ramon Sanchez, junior; Evan Ayers, sophomore (not pictured).

BRICK GRATITUDE.  Thanks, also, to Kathy Derry's classes at the Gunnison Community School.  The students recently embarked on a tremendous service learning project covering dozens of bricks.  A better bookend doesn't exist, according to our librarians.  We are tremendously grateful to Ms. Derry, her classes, and librarians Karen Jensen and Kym McNamara for donating materials.  Pictured below are some students with their bricks.

Friends of the Library
The Friends work tirelessly to build a partnership between the library and the community by supporting the services the library provides.

In addition, Friends work to raise funds to assist the library in purchasing additional books and library services.

We are fortunate to have two Friends groups in the valley:  the Gunnison Friends of the Library and the Crested Butte Friends of the Library.    Want to become a friend of your library?  Ask your librarian how to join!

Patron Placed Hold
Looking for a book not on our shelves? Did you know you can get books from dozens of lending libraries in our Marmot network? Ask a librarian about a patron placed hold.  It's fast and convenient!
